Tshisekedi Exits Uganda Event Early to Attend Africa-France Summit in Nairobi

Félix Tshisekedi left Uganda’s inauguration ceremony before the official presentation of visiting heads of state, drawing attention during the high-profile regional event.

The ceremony had attracted several African leaders and government representatives, including presidents from Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Burundi, and Rwanda.

While Uganda’s Vice President was introducing guests attending the swearing-in of Yoweri Museveni, it was discovered that Tshisekedi had already departed.

The Vice President announced:

“He has already left.”

Sources say the Congolese president was heading to Nairobi for a major Africa-France meeting attended by Emmanuel Macron.

Because of his early departure, Tshisekedi missed the final congratulatory session where other African leaders greeted President Museveni following the ceremony.
