Kigali, Rwanda — August 22, 2025 — Rwanda will officially host its first NCBA Junior Golf Series, welcoming 80 young golfers aged 4 to 16 to compete at Kigali Golf Resorts & Villas. Players will participate across four categories, ranging from three-hole competitions to the full 18-hole course.
The tournament is part of a wider regional program already established in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, where more than 1,000 juniors take part annually. Organizers say the event not only strengthens youth sports development but also contributes to Rwanda’s ambition of boosting sports-driven tourism.
Speaking ahead of the event, Ambassador Bill Kayonga, President of the Rwanda Golf Association, said: “By investing in junior golf, we are shaping the future of this sport in Rwanda. This is a milestone for our golfing community.”
NCBA Bank Rwanda CEO Maurice Toroitich highlighted that golf helps children grow in discipline, confidence, and professionalism, while Gaston Gasore, Acting CEO of Kigali Golf Resorts & Villas, praised the tournament as a platform for showcasing young talent.
