On Monday, Gen. Mubarakh Muganga addressed young participants of the 15th Itorero Indangamirwa program at the Nkumba Leadership Training Center in Burera District.
The session focused on the theme of Africa finding solutions to its own challenges, highlighting the significant role Rwanda’s Defense Forces continue to play in this mission through cooperation agreements with countries such as Mozambique and the Central African Republic.
Gen. Muganga encouraged the youth to work hard and recognize their role as future leaders in advancing Rwanda and Africa at large. He urged them to build their skills and capacity to address Africa’s pressing issues, including poverty, conflicts, health crises, and other challenges.
The Itorero Indangamirwa program runs from July 1 to August 14, 2025, bringing together 438 youth — including Rwandans studying or living abroad and students in international schools in Rwanda who excelled during the Inkomezabigwi civic service program. They are recognized as youth leaders representing their peers.
During the training, participants receive basic military skills, as well as lessons on Rwanda’s history, civic education, national unity and resilience, the vision for Rwanda’s future, education, and innovation.
