{"id":45,"date":"2025-08-03T10:28:15","date_gmt":"2025-08-03T10:28:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/burimunsi.xyz\/?p=45"},"modified":"2025-08-03T10:28:21","modified_gmt":"2025-08-03T10:28:21","slug":"rwanda-44-junior-officers-complete-professional-leadership-training-at-gishari-police-training-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/burimunsi.xyz\/?p=45","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda: 44 Junior Officers Complete Professional Leadership Training at Gishari Police Training School"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Rwamagana, Rwanda \u2013 August 1st<\/strong> \u2014 A total of <strong>44 junior officers<\/strong> from various Rwandan law enforcement institutions have successfully completed a <strong>five-month professional and leadership training course<\/strong> at the <strong>Rwanda National Police Training School (PTS)<\/strong> in Gishari, Rwamagana District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The graduation ceremony, held this Friday, was attended by senior officials from <strong>Rwanda National Police (RNP)<\/strong>, <strong>Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB)<\/strong>, <strong>Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS)<\/strong>, and the <strong>National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The participants included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>38 junior police officers<\/strong> from RNP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2 officers<\/strong> from RIB<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2 officers<\/strong> from RCS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2 officers<\/strong> from NISS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Comprehensive Curriculum Focused on Leadership and Security Management<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The trainees underwent intensive instruction covering a wide range of topics including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Daily operational procedures<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Public security management<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Communication strategies<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Leadership and human resource management<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Criminal investigations and research methodology<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>National security and intelligence<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Weapons handling and tactical operations<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>They also participated in <strong>field visits<\/strong> aimed at connecting theoretical knowledge with practical experience. This included educational trips to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>Campaign Against Genocide Museum<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Heroes\u2019 Mausoleum in Remera<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Kigali Genocide Memorial<\/strong>, among others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Senior Officials Emphasize Professionalism and Ethical Conduct<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While presiding over the closing ceremony, <strong>Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Administration and Personnel<\/strong>, <strong>DCG Jeanne Chantal Ujeneza<\/strong>, emphasized the critical role of ongoing training in shaping a <strong>professional police force<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cRwanda National Police prioritizes training because it is the foundation for building a professional force. Junior officers shoulder various responsibilities, and upgrading their skills is essential,\u201d<\/em> she said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>She further urged the graduates to apply their newly acquired knowledge in ensuring <strong>public safety<\/strong>, enforcing <strong>the rule of law<\/strong>, and <strong>preventing crime<\/strong>\u2014especially through collaboration with communities and partner institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DIGP Ujeneza also reminded the officers to uphold the core values of the force, and to resist unethical behaviors such as <strong>corruption<\/strong>, <strong>alcohol abuse<\/strong>, and <strong>excessive use of force<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Institutional Excellence Through Skilled Leadership<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Commissioner of Police (CP) Robert Niyonshuti<\/strong>, the Commandant of the Gishari Police Training School, stated that the 21-week training aimed to <strong>equip the officers with the leadership and technical skills<\/strong> necessary for their roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cThe primary goal of this training was to prepare you to lead with integrity and influence others positively.
