The beneficiary resides in <strong>Mubuga Village<\/strong>, <strong>Cyanya Cell<\/strong>, <strong>Cyuve Sector<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project, which began in <strong>August 2025<\/strong>, is part of DASSO\u2019s broader commitment to <strong>support vulnerable families<\/strong> while ensuring <strong>community security and well-being<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About the House<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The new house under construction includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Three bedrooms<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A sitting room<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>An external kitchen<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A toilet<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Essential household items<\/strong> to be provided before handover<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>seven-member family<\/strong> had previously lived in a dilapidated two-room structure, which was declared unsafe during the rainy season. Due to the risk of collapse, they were temporarily relocated and provided with rental support by local authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Empowering Lives Beyond Security<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Munyandamutsa Venant<\/strong>, DASSO Coordinator in Musanze District, said the initiative reflects DASSO\u2019s expanded role beyond security enforcement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s project is about building a home for a vulnerable citizen. DASSO is no longer just a security organ \u2014 we\u2019re a force for <strong>improving community welfare<\/strong>. Every year, we commit resources, often more than <strong>UGX 2 million<\/strong>, from our own contributions to fund such initiatives.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized the organization&#8217;s mission to shift public perception:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cPeople must understand DASSO isn\u2019t just there to punish \u2014 we\u2019re here to serve, uplift, and protect all citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Beneficiaries Speak Out<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Marie Chantal Mukarwego<\/strong>, the wife of the disabled veteran, expressed deep gratitude:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe used to live in miserable conditions \u2014 sometimes I would go days without food. My husband, who is disabled, makes shoes and earns just 50 Rwandan Francs per pair \u2014 it wasn\u2019t enough for the family.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>She added:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThis new house feels like a miracle. When it rains, we won\u2019t have to stand all night or send our children to sleep elsewhere. I\u2019m beyond thankful to DASSO and everyone who helped. May God bless them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Completion Timeline and Broader Impact<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The construction is expected to be completed by <strong>September 2025<\/strong>, after which the family will move into their new home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This initiative is part of DASSO Musanze\u2019s ongoing community development programs, which include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Building and renovating homes for the vulnerable<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Paying community health insurance for the poor<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Supporting anti-erosion efforts<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Working with partners for sustainable social impact<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>Cyuve Sector<\/strong> alone, over <strong>90 families<\/strong> are still in need of decent housing.
