Uganda\u2019s Anglican Archbishop prayed publicly for the First Lady, asking God to heal her illness and continue protecting the Museveni family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Museveni attended the ceremony dressed in a white shirt, black trousers, black shoes, and a khaki cap, while the event venue was largely decorated in yellow, Uganda\u2019s national political color associated with the ruling NRM party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A military parade lasting around 15 minutes was held before Uganda\u2019s flag was lowered to mark the completion of the ruling party\u2019s sixth term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Museveni, who won January\u2019s election with 71.6% of the vote, will now lead Uganda until 2031 under a new five-year mandate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, stood close to him throughout the military ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
